Christophany is the manifestation of the Christic presence within the unfolding of evolution --
moments when divine love becomes visible in the deepening relationality, creativity, and
consciousness of the cosmos. It is the emergence of the Cosmic Christ in and through the
world’s ongoing becoming.
WISR Circles cultivate spaces where the Christic presence can become manifest in our lives and
in the world. Rooted in Teilhard de Chardin’s evolutionary vision and the emerging
understanding of Christ as the dynamic energy of divine love at the heart of evolution, we invite
group members to explore how this presence is unfolding through consciousness, relationality,
and creativity.
The groups foster a learning community dedicated to exploring the dynamic relationship
between science, religion, and culture, cultivating higher levels of unity, compassion, and
shared understanding. Through this integrative educational process, participants engage the
work of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, Ilia Delio, and other contemporary thinkers, translating
evolutionary thought into lived experience.
“I began a praxis of contemplative prayer in 1976, which is when I was first introduced to Teilhard de Chardin. My church ministry has been in media and communications, including four years working for Archbishop Desmond Tutu during the apartheid era. The [World Institute for Science, Religion and Culture] attracts me for its mature contemplative focus on the world’s ‘becoming.’ I would like to meet some companions on this journey.”
